George Springer and Ernie Clement had an awkward moment at a Maple Leafs game
by Rex Villas

The Toronto Blue Jays haven’t yet started their 2026 MLB campaign, but George Springer and Ernie Clement have already taken walks.
The two were spotted among the crowd watching Wednesday’s game between the New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. However, they apparently initially sat in the wrong seats, as a Scotiabank Arena staff member asked Springer and Clement to move to their correct seats.
They calmly followed the usher’s instructions and walked a few rows back, where some lucky fans got to sit beside a couple of Blue Jays stars.

Springer and Clement were simply there to enjoy some Toronto hockey before work officially begins for them with the Blue Jays, who are several months removed from one of the most heartbreaking losses in World Series history. They lost Game 7 of the 2025 Fall Classic to Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
But that’s all behind them now, as the Blue Jays look to take inspiration from the Maple Leafs’ 4-3 win against the Rangers.
The Blue Jays are set to begin their 2026 campaign at Rogers Centre in Toronto on Friday against the Athletics, with Kevin Gausman scheduled to toe the rubber for the reigning American League champions.
