Five-time Gold Glove-winning outfielder Jason Heyward announced his retirement from Major League Baseball on Friday.

Heyward announced his decision during a segment on MLB Network, thanking everyone for “allowing me to live out my dream.”

The 36-year-old ends his career after 16 big-league campaigns with the Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, and Houston Astros.

Along with his five Gold Gloves, Heyward earned one All-Star selection and was a World Series champion in 2016 with the Cubs. He memorably helped rally the team by giving a speech during the rain delay in Game 7.

Heyward was drafted 14th overall by the Atlanta Braves in 2007. He went on to accrue 34.8 WAR, according to FanGraphs, and finishes his career with 186 home runs, 730 RBIs, and 125 steals.
